Kisumu Senator Anyang' Nyong'o has apologised to the residents of the county for supporting Governor Jack Ranguma in the 2013 elections.
According to Nyong'o who has declared his candidature for the coveted seat in 2017 elections, he regrets supporting the governor for "he has failed to live to the expectations of the residents."
The Senator said they had to settle on Ranguma because he was the only alternative as at the time of election.
He said they wanted former PS David Nalo to run for the seat but he died before the polls.
Ranguma hails from Kano, Muhoroni Constituency.
Prof Nyong'o said the biggest mistake they made was to support Ranguma as they did not have enough background about him, where he worked and why he left his previous jobs.
"We did not ask Muhoroni people what he did at the factory or question the Kenya Revenue Authority why he left," Nyong'o said on Friday.
Nyong'o claimed the only development that Ranguma has brought to the county is the exponential growth of Kachok dumpsite which people call Got Ranguma.
However, he exuded confidence that he will be elected as the next governor to replace the Ranguma.
