She said the decision to support UhuRuto cost her the Kitui County Senate seat, the Nation reports.

The former Land minister at the same time urged the Kamba community to support Kalonzo Musyoka’s presidential bid saying he’s the best among the opposition’s Cord candidates to send UhuRuto home in the 2017 polls.

“I will not make the same mistake this time round. I have made a resolve to back Kalonzo Musyoka. I beseech the entire Kamba community to rally behind our own son as well,” the Kitui County governor hopeful said.

Ngilu said her past disagreements with the Wiper party leader had not augured well with the community, thus costing it the presidency.

“I wish to inform Kalonzo Musyoka that I will campaign for him as I seek Kitui governor’s seat. I hope that he will support my gubernatorial ambitions in return,” she stated.

She made the remarks during a funeral in Mutula village, Kitui Central sub-county.
