Nakuru Governor Lee Kinyanjui has said he respects his counterpart Governor Jackson Mandago of Uasin Gishu.
Kinyanjui, who came under fire from Eldoret leaders after he commented on the eviction of hawkers in the county, said he holds his counterparts in high regard.
Kinyanjui said the issue of eviction of hawkers was raised during the Saturday function in Bahati, and as a leader promised to follow up on the issue.
"Indeed, we have since spoken with the Governor of Uasin Gishu and I briefed him on the concerns by his constituents. As a Governor, I hold my colleagues with utmost regard and will always endeavour to uphold the principle of collective responsibility," Kinyanjui said.
Uasin Gishu leaders, led by the county's deputy governor Daniel Chemno, had told off KInyanjui saying the county is not an extension of Nakuru.
The issue was also blown up as Mandago was accused of profiling traders from the Mt Kenya region in the war against hawkers.
