Speaking to KTN News on Friday ahead of his mega concert at the Meru Polytechnic, the Utanipenda hit-maker has said that he had to struggle to get to his current position.

''I started singing back in 2000 but I did not have money even to record the first single. I had to sell my mother's ring that she had given me to wear at all times then I lied to her that it had fallen into the toilet while I was taking a bath,'' he said.

Diamond also says that he did a number of jobs ranging from photography to portrait painting before he started selling mitumba clothes.

"It didn't work so I ended up fixing travelling bag locks and I used to be paid a dollar daily," he added.

However, despite the past struggles, he is currently among the biggest and most popular celebrities on the continent having done mega international collaborations.

He is also the founder of the Wasafi Classic Baby (W.C.B).
