Kiambu veteran politician Lawrence Nginyo Kariuki has asked opposition leader Raila Odinga to consider quitting politics.
After failing for the fourth time to clinch the presidency, Kariuki said, the former Prime Minister should throw in the towel and let the youthful leaders lead the country.
"Raila has struggled enough for this nation. I have worked with him for a very long time and I know his good intentions for our country,"
The politician-cum businessman added: "However, I strongly believe it is time he retires from active politics and concentrate on mentoring young leaders."
Addressing journalists at his home on Friday, Kariuki called on President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto to strive to unite the country once again after the divisive elections.
"The recent Supreme Court ruling to uphold Uhuru's reelection has brought to an end uncertainty about the country's leadership. Now it is time for Jubilee leaders to attend the urgent task of national healing through building bridges with the Opposition," said Kariuki who founded Uhuru's defunct The National Alliance (TNA) party.
