In the recent months, a political push and pull has been witnessed between Baringo Senator Gideon Moi and Deputy President William Ruto as the two leaders seek to stamp their feet on who is king of Rift Valley politics.
Last year, DP Ruto was alleged to have called Moi the 'uncircumcised' little boy of former President Arap Moi leading to a bitter exchange with the Baringo senator.
However, the Baringo lawmaker has dismissed any ill relationship between him and DP Ruto saying that he is willing to work with the son of Sugoi as long as Jubilee rules for another five years.
Moi even campaigned for President Uhuru Kenyatta and Ruto saying the two should be reelected for the sake of peace and economic growth but also urged voters to remember his 2022 ambition.
"If you re-elect Jubilee, I humbly request that you remember me," said Moi.
He also denied claims that he is out to divide the Kalenjin vote.
"Everyone has the opportunity to try politics...If the people support Ruto, me or any other person to take over from Uhuru in 2022...[I will respect the democracy]," he added.
Moi is contesting for the Baringo senate seat on a Kanu ticket and is facing former Betting and Licensing Director Simon Chelgui who sources claim he enjoys DP Ruto's support.
