[Photo: Peter Kenneth]Nairobi independent gubernatorial candidate Peter Kenneth has conceded defeat. This is after he came third behind incumbent Dr Evans Kidero (ODM) and Mike Sonko (Jubilee). Sonko is leading the race, while Kidero has dismissed Sonko's win.Below is his statement."My Fellow NairobiansThe people of Nairobi have spoken. They have voted their choices of the people that they wish to lead them over the next five years. I accept the results, congratulate the incoming governor, Mike Sonko, and wish him godspeed as he takes on the enormous task ahead of him. Having traversed all 85 wards in the city, I have witnessed first hand the enormity of the suffering of Nairobians. The incoming Governor has his work cut out for him and needs the support of each and every Nairobian to succeed. He can count on my support. To the people of Nairobi, I enjoyed my visits with you, met many wonderful people and made new friends. I thank you for the warm reception and urge you to continue to work hard to make Nairobi great again. Finally, I join other Kenyans in appealing for calm and peace. It is upon us all to put our beloved country first."
