Wiper Party Leader Kalonzo Musyoka has requested the Kalenjin community to support his 2017 presidential bid in return for his backing of former President Daniel Moi.
Musyoka, who is seeking to be Cord's presidential flag bearer in next year's polls, appealed for the support saying he stood behind the former President when other communities rebelled.
In an interview with Kass FM on Wednesday, Kalonzo said he will soon tour Rift Valley to drum up support, insisting he holds no grudge with the community.
"I am going for presidency in the 2017 election and I urge the community to back me. I have been their true friend since time immemorial," said the former Vice President.
He added: "To date we have no grudge. We are just in different political camps."
Musyoka also noted he had no personal differences with Deputy President William Ruto, whom he termed as his long-time friend.
The Cord principal said that he will ensure that he becomes the coalition's flag bearer by convincing his colleagues ODM party leader Raila Odinga and Ford Kenya's Moses Wetang'ula.
He also rubbished claims that his party has become weak following a number of legislators defecting to newly formed Jubilee Party.
"I am aware that some leaders from my home turf have decamped to Jubilee. Though it is their democratic right they will never be re-elected," Kalonzo remarked.
