Jubilee Senator Kipchumba Murkomen has revealed that he warned Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho against following President Uhuru Kenyatta to functions.Murkomen said Joho wanted to attend the re-launch of Mtongwe Ferry on Monday to gain political mileage ahead of the August general election."I told Joho last week that the only service he has delivered to the people of Mombasa is following Uhuru and insulting him,” the Elgeyo Marakwet senator posted on Twitter on Monday. He added, “For his re-election, Joho is depending on getting a chance to attend the President's functions. What irony for a man who hates his Excellency.”During the Mtongwe function, Uhuru bashed the ODM deputy party leader, saying he (Joho) was following him around as if he (Uhuru) was his wife.“Anajaribu kunifuatafuata badala ya kuwaambia wakaazi wa Likoni amewafanyia nini. Tunafuatana na yeye afanye nini? Mimi sio bibi yake....Why does he want to follow me? Am I his wife? He should tell people what he has done for them,” said Uhuru.A contingent of General Service Unit (GSU) officers were deployed to block Joho from attending the presidential function.ODM has since criticised Uhuru for his remarks against the Governor. The party's chairman, John Mbadi, in a press statement said Uhuru's recent public outbursts were an indication he was unfit for Presidency."As the Head of State, the President is the symbol of national unity and must at all times uphold integrity of the Presidency and respect the two levels of government as provided for in the constitution. The holder of the office of the president must never act in anger," he said.
