The National Super Alliance (Nasa) leader Raila Odinga has welcomed Nakuru politician Koigi Wa Wamwere, after he dumped the ruling Jubilee Party.

The human rights activist, journalist and writer, became famous for opposing both the Jomo Kenyatta and Daniel arap Moi regimes, both of which sent him to detention.

Raila revealed he was with Koigi in detention during the Moi regime, and so, shared a lot of issues.

According to the ODM party leader, the veteran politician's entry into Nasa, is worth applause, given that he is a patriotic citizen, whose intentions are to diligently serve the people.

In 2016, Koigi, folded his Chama Cha Mwananchi (CCM) party to join Jubilee, as he sought the Nakuru senatorial seat.

He lost in Jubilee Party primaries, to Susan Kihika, the Nakuru County Assembly Speaker. Koigi garnered 17 votes.

Former Cabinet Minister Kirugi M’Mukindia also joined Nasa, Thursday.
