Former Lands Cabinet Secretary  Charity Ngilu now claims that she was framed up by cartels in relation to the Sh8 b Karen land saga.

Ngilu who was charged with the offence of obstructing investigations into the land saga says that she at no time prevented investigators from seeking answers in regards o the multi-billion saga.

The former Lands CS alleges that top cartels who felt threatened by her zeal to unravel graft in the Lands sector implicated her in the saga.

“I was framed up by people who wanted me out of the Lands Ministry for them to continue with their dirty tricks,” she said as quoted by the Daily Nation.

The former CS said that her quest to reform the land sector did not please cartels who she claimed are rife in government.

Ngilu who has since been acquitted of the offense said that she has no bad feelings after being suspended and later sacked over the allegations.

“I have forgiven those who framed me in the Karen land saga,” she said adding that she has the freedom to focus on other issues.

On Monday a Nairobi court terminated criminal charges against Ngilu over the Karen land saga.

The court dropped the case following a court of Appeal order that declared the trial unconstitutional.

Ngilu had been charged with the offense of obstructing investigation officials from investigating the 134 acre Karen land saga in June 2015.

Meanwhile, the Narc Party leader has ruled out working with President Uhuru Kenyatta again.

Ngilu says that she regrets campaigning for Jubilee in 2013 adding that she will now work with the National Super Alliance (NASA)

Ngilu is expected to sign a pre-election deal with NASA in the coming days.

She has also declared interest in the Kitui gubernatorial seat.
