Kiambu Governor has succumbed to pressure from Jubilee over his recent sentiments on Deputy President William Ruto and now says he was misquoted.
Speaking in Narok on Sunday, the embattled governor said that he is a close ally of the DP and will be the first to endorse him in 2022.
"I want to say it very clearly that Hon Ruto has guaranteed support from the Mt Kenya region in his presidency bid in 2022. He is my close friend and if you ask him to name ten of his best friends I will be among them," Kabogo said.
He asked his critics to avoid much politics since they were the ones that did not interpret him correctly.
"Let's us avoid much politics and name-calling. It is of no doubt that William Ruto will clinch to presidency easily. I will be the first to endorse him and vote for him," added the Kiambu boss.
Kabogo was quoted last week saying that the Mt Kenya region was a wide voting block and would consider whom to vote to succeed President Kenyatta after his term expired in 2022.
He is said to have intimated that Ruto's support from Mt Kenya was not guaranteed, something that saw him receive much criticism from TNA and URP supporters asking him to apologise and retract his statement.
