Jubilee Party members continue to pressure Raila Odinga over remarks that he made during a rally in Kajiado last week.
According to the leaders, Odinga’s remarks were wrong, and should take responsibility and apologiset to Kenyans.
Speaking on the same issue, Majority Leader Aden Duale says Odinga should apologise or risk being arrested.
“I want to ask my good friend honorable Raila Odinga, you can do better. You don’t have to look for votes through incitement, you don’t need to become the next president of Kenya by dividing the nation,” said Duale.
Odinga on the other hand has maintained that he was misquoted, and his remarks were taken out of context.
“I never talked about land deprivation in Kajiado, what I was talking about was this issue of poverty in Kajiado. That people have been neglected economically that they have been forced to sell their land because of this poverty,” he said.
“We said that we are going to deal with the causes of poverty so that people do not have to resort to selling communal land in order to survive,” he added.
Interior Cabinet Secretary Joseph Nkaissery has said that Odinga risks facing action if investigation reveal that he was culpable of the accusations.
