National Assembly Minority leader Francis Nyenze has said that he was speaking on behalf of former vice President Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka-led party in regard to his stand over National Super Alliance (NASA) flag bearer.
The legislator said that many leaders from different parts of the nation had misunderstood when he said that the Kamba community had been given a raw deal after the alliance named Cord leader Raila Amolo Odinga as the flag bearer and Wiper leader Kalonzo his running mate ahead of the August general polls.
"Many people had [misunderstood] my stand...I was acting on behalf of the party," he told the media after a meeting with Kalonzo.
Earlier on, Kalonzo had come out in defense of Nyenze saying that he was pushed to the wall for what he believed in.
"Honorable Nyenze expresses belief. He has received a lot of bad press due to saying what he believes in," he said.
The Deputy President under the NASA lineup added: "I don't want a gentleman I know so much to be besmirched. The name Nyenze doesn't mean he is a cockroach. I am here to defend him. I want to thank him for standing with me."
