The Govenor who spoke to the press in Eldoret, Friday, said he was on leave and could not honor the summons where he was expected to answer audit queries in relations to the county's revenue and expenditure accounts.

He however said he was ready and will appear in person before the Senate on the rescheduled date.

"I have always been ready to appear before any Senate Committee to answer audit queries in relation to my county as I believe all the funds have been prudently used," noted Mandago.

"This week I had other commitments as I was on perternal leave, which I am entitled to and this is why I could not appear before the committee," he added.

On Wednesday, the Senate Public Accounts and Investment Committee turned away Deputy Governor Daniel Chemno who had appeared before it on behalf of the governor.
