Interior Security Cabinet Secretary Joseph Nkaissery has revealed that he was ready to ‘deal’ with the opposition Cord should they have continued with their January 4th demonstrations over the controversial election laws amendments.

The opposition team withdrew their plans on Thursday, a day after senate speaker Ekwe Ethuro recommitted the controversial laws to the Senate Legal committee.

Speaking on Friday at Namanga, Nkaissery said his team was ready to violate with ‘elements’ distabilising the day’s government.

“I want to thank my friend Kalonzo Musyoka for calling off the demonstrations. My team was ready to deal with any element that was out to distabilise the day’s government,” he said amid laughter.

“I took an oath to protect the constitution and that has always been my nature. The law must be upheld by any citizen regardless of you status in the society,” he added.

The former Kajiado Central MP has been at loggerheads with his former opposition colleagues in the manner in which he handles protesters.
