President Uhuru Kenyatta has admitted that he was shocked after learning that former Kenyan ambassador to Tanzania Chirau Ali Mwakwere had joined opposition coalition NASA.
Mwakwere ditched Jubilee Party for the opposition in March this year, and is now gunning for the Kwale gubernatorial seat on a Wiper Party ticket.
Speaking on Thursday during his tour of Kwale, President Kenyatta further cautioned the former diplomat against attacking him, threatening to expose Mwakwere's past misdeeds.
"I was shocked when he joined our opponents after giving him the ambassadorial post. Now he is abusing my administration (saying) that we have grabbed land and other silly claims," President Kenyatta noted.
“I am warning him to desist and do peaceful campaigns or I will expose all his ills. I have all his files and I can open them to the public any time," he added.
Mwakwere vied unsuccessfully for the Kwale senatorial seat in 2013 on a URP Party ticket.
He lost to the late Senator Boy Juma Boy of ODM.
