Uasin Gishu County Commissioner Hassan Abdi has vowed to fight radicalisation devoid of fear in the county.

He said many youths had joined terror groups, posing a threat to the country's security. 

"This year alone we have lost over ten youths who we suspect to have joined Al Shabaab militia group. I will not allow it to happen under my watch," he said. 

The county boss said on Saturday that his office has formed County Anti Radicalization Committee which will help in the fight against extremism and radicalisation.

"The committee will constitute all religious leaders, county government officials and all stakeholders in the security docket," he said. 

He revealed that students in the county will also be involved to fight the vice.
