President Uhuru Kenyatta has promised members of the Abagusii community that they will have a higher stake in his government should they re-elect him.

Speaking during a campaign rally in Kisii county Monday, the head of state said that he had already indicated the same by appointing quite a number of the community members to serve in his government despite them failing to support his bid in 2013.

"In 2013 we did not walk together but nonetheless I reached out for your sons and daughters to work with me in government, and I intend to continue with the same, kindly support my bid this time round," he said.

The president who was in the company of his Deputy William Ruto further scoffed at the opposition coalition Nasa saying they had no agenda for the vote rich county.

Kisii county has over 500,000 votes up for grabs with political pundits having classified it as a swing vote region.

The Nasa brigade is expected to also tour the area Tuesday, 24 hours after the Jubilee side left in a bid to undo any meaningful gains that their rivals could have made with only 6 days to the polls.
