The MP has said that he will write to the National Assembly Speaker Justin Muturi asking him to call for a special sitting of the house for Boinnet’s name to be vetted and approved so that he could begin work as soon as possible.

"We cannot wait until February to debate on the nomination of the Inspector General’s position. Our security is at stake and we cannot afford to delay further seeing that the President has given us a nominee already. Boinnet needs to assume his duties as soon as possible," said Chepkonga.

Chepkonga also hailed President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto for nominating Boinnet for the position.

"Boinnet is the right man for the job. His distinguished service to the nation warrants him such a position. We are grateful to the President and his Deputy,” added Chepkonga.

Chepkonga was speaking in his Ainabkoi Constituency on Friday.
