Speaking at Kapsogo Market in Kabarnet during the home coming ceremony of Baringo Central MP Joseph Kendie on Saturday, Mutua said he will be on the ballot like others in the next general elections.

Mutua said he is not skittish and will not relent on his bid for presidency.

He said he is not a "water melon" to betray his supporters.

The Machakos governor said he will work with the Baringo senator Gideon Moi.

Mutua said they will form a coalition that will help them realize victory after Uhuru's term.

"In Machakos I was hated for standing with Uhuru and Ruto, my rivals fought me but I declared before them that I was neither a coward nor 'water melon' and that I would support UhuRuto's re-election," Mutua said.

"I want to make known that in 2022 I will meet all the others on the ballot, we are in discussions with Gideon and can confidently say 'mbele Iko sawa'," he added.

Bureti MP Japhet Mutahi declared his endorsement by saying there is nothing that can stop him from supporting Mutua.

"There is nothing wrong with backing Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua's bid for the presidency come 2022," Mutahi said.
