National Campaign Against Drug and Alcohol (Nacada) Chairman John Mututho has faulted Nakuru Governor Kinuthia Mbugua over the medical practitioners strike.
Speaking at a venacular Tv station, the former Naivasha lawmaker said Kinuthia has decided to ignore the medics and should not be trusted with the post in the next poll.
"From the word go, Kinuthia was not meant to be a governor. He was a good police commander and has poor leadership style. The medics who are striking should be given attention," Mututho said.
He said the strike has affected patients yet the county government 'has refused to address the issue'.
"Many people are suffering in Nakuru and its environs especially the poor. Those who have no money to go to private hospitals are left without any medical attention and the governor should come out of his office and address the stalemate," Mututho added.
He lamented that many hospitals have no medicine despite the huge allocation of budget in Nakuru.
"Nakuru receives 13 billion in the budgetary allocation yet patients cannot get the medicines. They are treated and then the doctors recommend them to certain pharmacies which they operate to go and buy medicine. We need to be aggressive and give other people the mandate and I tell the people of Nakuru that I am the one with the solution," Mututho continued.
