President Uhuru Kenyatta says he will continue questioning Chief Justice David Maraga’s decision to nullify his victory despite criticism from a section of Kenyans.
Last week, hundreds of Kenyans from Gusii region accused Uhuru of belittling Maraga and warned that they will ‘teach’ him a lesson in ballot.
And at Bungoma on Thursday, Uhuru denied claims that he was attacking Gusii community adding that his rants were in connection with ‘fake’ court ruling.
“They are saying that I am attacking the Kisii community. The other day he (Raila Odinga) was roasting Fred Matiang’i who is a Kisii as well.
“I will continue questioning Maraga over his fake ruling. I have a right to know what he used to reach the decision and I am completely in disagreement,” he said.
In his first trip to Kisii after the court ruling, Odinga challenged Kenyatta to respect the decision made by Supreme Court as he did in 2013 petition.
First the first time in Africa, a Supreme Court of Kenya nullified victory of a sitting President, which was the third in the world.
