Molo MP Jacob Macharia has pledged to fast-track development promises he made to the electorate during the campaigns leading to the 2013 General Elections.
Speaking at Mianzani Primary School during his homecoming party on Saturday, the MP said his agenda is to ensure Molo residents enjoy quality services.
The lawmaker indicated that his pledges are still fresh, adding that he is working on projects that will improve the living standards of the people.
The MP cited road infrastructure, supply of water, provision of bursary funds and provision of medical care as the major projects he is working on together with the county government.
“My promises to you (residents) are still valid, I am working closely with the county government to fulfill them,” he said.
Macharia said that locals have a right to demand for services, noting that local leaders must work for the people.
The MP said time has come for leaders to concentrate on serving the people, and shun rhetoric and empty pledges.
The lawmaker asked Governor Mbugua to make sure that all locals benefit from devolution of services.
Macharia indicated that the main idea of devolution was to bring services closer to the people, and that the county should use the resources it has for the benefit of the citizens.
