Former Subukia MP Koigi wa Wamwere has said he is the most qualified senatorial aspirant to succeed Nakuru senator James Mungai.
Speaking at a church in Bahati sub-county, Wamwere faulted his competitors saying they lack the expertise and should concede early before he humiliates them at the ballot come 2017.
"Sometimes I listen to my competitors speaking and I get the assurance that the people of Nakuru have deficiency of leaders. They lack good will for the seat and the expertise to oversee how the county is ran," said Wamwere.
He said he will ensure the funds allocated to Nakuru county will be put into good use.
"We have been let down by the current leaders. Out of the 13 billion Nakuru received in the previous budget, a lot cannot be accounted for. I will ensure that more money is allocated to the county and follow it up to ensure it has maximum advantage to the locals," he added.
"I formed Chama Cha Mwananchi Party to ensure that the locals get food on their table regardless of their ethnic, religious or political affiliations. Since the President and the DP have come up with a national party, I folded CCM and will seek your votes on a Jubilee ticket, " Koigi said.
In the Nakuru senatorial race is County Assembly Speaker, Susan Kihika, Lawyer Karanja Kabage and Madaraka Mwithaga, son of former Nakuru North MP Mark Mwithaga. Senator James Mungai has said he will run for governorship.
