Prominent farmer Jackson Kibor on Thursday stunned an Eldoret court when he said he is seeking divorce because it would enable him live longer.

Kibor, 83, whose live has been clouded with controversies is seeking to divorce his wife Josephine Jepkoech Kibor whom they have been married for the past 51 years.

He filed the divorce case claiming the wife was rude and had denied him conjugal rights. The wife has however opposed the divorce case saying she still lives Kibor and has no intention of leaving him.

"I don’t want this woman. I will live longer without her. She has subjected me to a lot of pain and psychological torture," Kibor told the court, as quoted by the Nation.

The two were married in 1965 and have seven children. Kibor has three other wives.Hearing of the case will continue on August 1 before Eldoret Chief Magistrate Charles Obulutsa.
