Nakuru county Speaker Susan Kihika has rubbished off attempts by a cross secion of county MCAs seeking to have her removed from power.

Kihika termed them as pure threats and attempts to intimidate her. Addressing women during celebrations to mark the World Women’s Day at Nyayo gardens on Friday, the speaker cited that the intimidation only made her stronger.

She claimed that she would continue ruling until her term in office ended.

“Those who want the seat should wait until 2017 otherwise I am here to stay,” she added.

The speaker cited that the dramas by the MCAs were ploy to intimidate and harass women leaders in the county.

“I do not fear anyone or their dramas. Anyone willing to challenge me should come and face me but I will not be cowed by their issues,” she added.

The speaker claimed that the uprising of women leaders in the county was commendable citing that many of the leaders heading various departments in the county were women.

The speaker appealed to the residents to support the supplementary budget, citing that it will cater for the welfare of the women in the area. She added that they will introduce The Nakuru County Gender Equality And Women Empowerment Bill And The Maternal And Newborn Health Bill that will spearhead the empowerment of the women in the country.
