This denial from the former Starehe MP comes right after reports confirmed that the two had sat down and agreed to work together under a Jubilee ticket.

The leader had hinted at joining forces with Wamalwa when conducting her Sunday service at her Jesus is Alive Church Ministries.

"I know you (Wamalwa) have been looking for a Kikuyu running mate and I have also been looking for Luhya running mate. So I think we can work together to get the ticket and win this seat," Wanjiru said.

Wamalwa also came out to say that it was time the political scene changed as it seemed to be controlled but specific people.

"I have been told all sorts of things. I have been told this city has its owners. But this is the politics that we should change," he said.

Wamalwa’s endorsement for the 2017 gubernatorial seat was made two weeks ago by a few MPs but has not been received well by quite a number of MPs who branded Wamalwa an outsider who cannot shape the city’s politics.
