Opposition leader Raila Odinga has said he is the most preferred candidate to face President Uhuru Kenyatta come 2017 general election.
Raila has also dismissed claims that he will back another candidate for President.
"Those thinking that I will endorse another candidate should wake up from their slumber and acknowledge my candidature as I am the most preferred candidate in 2017," the ODM leader said on Saturday at a funeral in Alego constituency, Siaya County.
Earlier, Raila had hinted at backing another candidate to face Uhuru if he realised he would lose to the incumbent President.
There have been speculations that he may endorse ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi, who has also said he is open to working with Raila.
Cord co-principals Moses Wetangula and Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka are also seeking to become Cord flag bearer.
"I can't allow anyone to come into my home and build a structure without my approval? Those looking for endorsement from me are insane," he added.
Other Cord MPs present at the function were; Siaya Senator James Orengo, Governor Cornel Rasanga, MPs Jakoyo Midiwo (Gem), Junet Mohamed (Suna East), Omondi Muluan (Alego Usonga), Opiyo Wandayi (Ugunja) and Oburu Odinga (nominated).
Raila expressed confidence that Cord will win 2017 polls by a landslide.
