Kirinyaga gubernatorial aspirant on a Narc Kenya ticket Martha Karua has dismissed sharply calls from her Jubilee competitor Anne Waiguru that she should retire from politics.

According to Karua, she has a long career in politics spanning 20 years and thus making her a top favorite for the job.

Speaking during the Kirinyaga gubernatorial debate on Wednesday, Karua further dismissed Waiguru as a leader with no political CV to back her statements.

"I will not retire from politics any time soon. I have a long career in politics and this only makes me favorite for the job," said Karua.

Karua also reiterated that Waiguru had been alleged to have watched over systematic looting during her reign as CS and thus could not be trusted with leadership.

"She (Waiguru) cannot be trusted with leadership. It is under her watch that systematic looting happened where millions of shillings got lost and thus cannot be trusted with Kirinyaga leadership," added Karua.

The Jubilee candidate Anne Waiguru was however absent from the debate.
