Musila says that there are calls to have him drop his bid to challenge Malombe in the Kitui gubernatorial race.

Speaking at Kwa Vonza in Kitui on Tuesday, Musila said that he will not be shaken in quest to unseat governor Malombe.

“I want to make it clear that I will not drop my ambition to unseat governor Malombe in August 8 polls,” he said as quoted by the Star.

Musila said that Kitui locals want him to be governor claiming that Malombe has failed to deliver.

“It is the wish of Kitui people to have me as their next governor come August,” he said.

Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka is said to have asked Musila to drop his bid to unseat Malombe.

Musyoka instead wants Musila to defend his senatorial seat in the August polls.

Kalonzo during a tour of Kitui on Tuesday asked Musila and Malombe to shelve their differences and work together for the unity of Wiper.

Both Musila and Malombe are Wiper members and were elected on their current positions on Wiper Party ticket in 2013.

Musila alongside former Lands CS Charity Ngilu have vowed to unseat Malombe who they claim has done nothing for Kitui people since being elected as governor in 2013.
