Kitutu Chache South MP Richard Onyonka has scoffed of president Uhuru's call for resignation of all individuals named in the EACC report that was handed to him by the graft body.

Speaking on Friday at Jogoo in the suburbs of Kisii town, Onyonka said Uhuru has no power to compel anybody to step aside on graft allegations.

The MP wondered why he was linked to corruption, yet he is the leading MP in Kisii and Nyanza at large in the utilization of CDF funds.

“I will not step aside as called by president, he has no powers to compel anyone to resign over corruption allegations. I do not know why EACC sneaked my named into their report yet am number one in projects by the CDF money in Kisii and Nyanza at large, whereby I also take position five nationwide,” he wondered.

“I will continue working for my people because there are various projects I have initiated in my constituency,” added Onyonka.

The legislator, and Kisii senator Chris Obure are among the alleged persons on corruption in the EACC report that it handed to president and prompted him to call upon those mentioned in the report to down tools pending investigations on the corruption allegations.

Nairobi senator Mike Sonko and four cabinet secretaries among other alleged persons have since resigned to pave way for investigations.
