Jubilee politicians from Nyamira County can now breathe a sigh of relief after Deputy President William Ruto insisted that he will not meddle in nominations.

The Nyamira Jubilee Party team had been embroiled in internal squabbles which reportedly sabotaged crucial activities across the region.

With a section of Jubilee leader from Nyamira unhappy for being ‘bullied’ by their counterparts from Kisii, President Uhuru Kenyatta cancelled voter listing campaign in the region due to escalating wrangles between then.

But on Monday, Ruto who convene an emergency meeting with Nyamira politicians at his Karen home urged the leadership to work together.

”We have been having issues with our colleagues from Kisii, who are in charge of campaign openly supporting some of our competitors, “said Atuti Nyameino, who represents Gesima ward.

He added: “The DP was clear that all competitors should face each other in nominations. He is unhappy with internal intrigues among us.”

The crisis was partly blamed on Ruto by former Kitutu Masaba MP Walter Nyambati, who accused the DP of imposing leaders on the people.
