Speaking when he addressed senior county officials and heads of departments at a Nakuru hotel this morning, Mbugua said that his government will not tolerate lazy civil servants.

He added, “Nakuru has no place for rude and self-minded civil servants. Action will be taken against civil servants who take government work as a second option because people pay taxes expecting good service delivery.”

“Laziness by public servants will not be tolerated and we are ready to replace those who do not want to work. The government should meet the needs of its people and that is what we should be focusing on,” said the governor.

The meeting which brought together all heads of departments was meant to discuss service delivery and performance among civil servants in the county.

Elsewhere, the governor lauded the Geothermal Development Company (GDC) for its efforts in improving the standards of health facilities in Nakuru through its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programmes.

The governor spoke when he received an ambulance donated to the county government by GDC saying that the gesture will ensure that the county has a healthy population.

“GDC has done a lot to improve the status of health facilities in Nakuru by donating equipment. This has enabled our people to easily access better health services at the local health centres,” said Mbugua.

He added that his government will work with likeminded corporates to ensure that health care which is a basic necessity is brought closer to the people of Nakuru.
