Governor William Kabogo has vowed to promote and defend the rights and welfare of Kiambu women.

Speaking when he distributed water tanks to women groups at Githokomboni in Gatundu North on Wednesday where he distributed water tanks to women groups, Kabogo said that women play a key role in development.

Kabogo intimated that championing the rights of women is part of his development agenda.

He said that the county leadership has initiated various programmes aimed at empowering women. “Part of my key agenda as Kiambu governor is to empower women economically, socially and politically,” he said.

The Governor appealed to the county women to support his development. He also asked the women to voice their concerns on key issues facing the country.

“You (women) should not keep silent and watch when things are getting bad,” he said. The Kiambu boss said that the country will be able to advance if women voice their concerns.

He noted that the constitution has empowered women towards promoting change.
