Deputy President William Ruto and Baringo Senator Gideon Moi have been at loggerheads in recent months with the biggest bone of contention being the 2022 succession politics.
However, the two political rivals may soon be bosom buddies after Kericho governor Mr Paul Chepkwony stated he plans to hold talks between the two leaders for them to work as a unit.
Chepkwony said there was no need for animosity between the two leaders since public confrontations are fueling divisions among the community.
"Both are our sons. We will not wish any of them to perish," said Chepkwony.
According to Chepkwony, uniting Ruto and Moi will not be a herculean task since both leaders have a long history with the KANU party.
The governor also urged DP Ruto and Moi's allies to drop their hardline stands and work together so that they can stop 'embarrassing the community'.
"It is embarrassing to see some politicians fueling this disagreement by hurling insults at each other instead of seeking to cool it down. We need to help them meet and talk instead of creating further division," said Chepkwony.
Finally, Chepkwony adviced that a roundtable discussion for Ruto and Moi's supporters will also help break the enmity between the two factions.
