Former Naivasha MP John Mututho has criticized the leadership of Nakuru county accusing it of corruption . He said he will fight corruption if elected as a governor come 2017.
Speaking at a church service in Nakuru town on Saturday, the NACADA chairman said he will give the church a place in his administration and avoid subjecting religious functions to levy.
"Churches are not supposed to be charged to hold crusades and other religious functions, If you elect me governor next year, I shall ensure that no charges will be imposed on these functions," said Mututho.
"I want to tell you that Nakuru needs a transparent leader. My administration will not condone any manner of corruption. Since the members of the church are sober, I know you will back me up when that time comes," added the former Naivasha MP.
He asked the congregation to avoid abuse of drugs especially illicit alcohol as the Holy Books have condemned .
"There are 75 Biblical and 17 Quranic scriptures that condemn the use of alcohol. Drunkenness have been critisized more by these Holy Books than any othe sin including blasphemy. If God has condemned the use of alcohol, you don't need any other word from anyone, shun alcoholism," added the NACADA boss.
Nakuru county has attracted several gubernatorial aspirants including the incumbent goveernor, Kinutia Mbugua, NTSA chair, Lee Kinyanjui and Nakuru Senator, James Kiarie.
