The senator added that no one will stand in his way to winning the Nairobi gubernatorial seat.

Sonko said he will trounce all the aspirants including his greatest political enemy and incumbent Nairobi governor, Evans Kidero to become the next city boss.

While addressing journalists at a city hotel, Sonko pointed out that he has all the qualities required to be the next governor. He added that has good plans for the city residents once they give him the opportunity to take over Kidero in the upcoming general elections.

Sonko emphasised that his main goal is to serve the people without segregation. In his speech, the senator did not address the rumours of his intentions to vie for Mombasa gubernatorial seat.

"I am a servant of everybody regardless of tribe or race. I am appealing to all city residents to know that I am here to serve them. They have tried me as their senator and they have seen how I have fought for them. If I become the next governor, they will be better off than they are today," said the senator.

The Nairobi gubernatorial seat has attracted various politicians including the current governor, Evans Kidero, former Starehe MP, Margaret Wanjiru, Dagoretti South MP, Denis Waweru, Water CS, Eugene Wamalwa and nominated MP, Johnson Sakaja among others.
