Kabete MP and Kiambu gubernatorial hopeful Ferdinand Waititu has promised the incumbent governor William Kabogo another grueling political battle during the August general elections.
The lawmaker floored the flamboyant governor to clinch the Jubilee Party ticket during the just concluded party primaries.
Kabogo has since affirmed his presence in the ballot as an independent candidate.
He accused underhand dealings that were keen to frustrate his political ambitions after he lost during the nominations.
But speaking on Saturday in Mandera County, Waititu dismissed Kabogo's candidature, maintaining that he would still beat the County Chief during the forthcoming general elections.
"I worked hard in Kiambu and defeated someone, now he is the chairman of the independent candidates. But I want to tell him and his group that we don’t need brokers to vote in President Uhuru Kenyatta," Waititu said.
"Independent candidates have nothing to offer and I am ready to face their chairman on the August 8 for Kiambu [governorship seat] just like I did during party nominations." He added.
