Kisii County Governor Joash Maangi has said that he will be running for the governorship seat in 2022.
Speaking in Mwembe area on Friday, Mr Maangi said that he would have liked to work under Governor James Ongwae but it was unconstitutional.
"I believe Kisii county deserve the best and Governor Ongwae has proved to be the best and am ready to take over from him come 2022," said Maangi.
He said that he loved how Governor Ongwae was leading the county saying that he will ensure that his dynasty goes beyond the end of his term.

He called upon his opponents to chose to work with him for the benefit of the people until the next general elections.
"Election time is over and all we want is to ensure that all the leaders in the region units towards a common goal of improving the livelihoods of the locals," said Maangi
Maangi's declaration comes at a time majority of MPs in the area including Richard Tong'i of Nyaribari Chache have shown interest in running for the seat.
