Speaking in an interview with a local news agency, Duale said that the opposition duo should brace for a tough contest from Jubilee aspirants in the forth-coming elections.

The majority leader also said the fact that his dominant Abduwak clan has endorsed him is a true attestation of his commitment to service delivery to the Garissa residents.

"My clan has endorsed me in the regional politics. And even though my Abduwak clan controls over 70 percent of the Garissa votes, it is the true face of Jubilee administration and I want to teach Maalim and Raila a political lesson they will live to recall,” he said.

In the recent past, the Abduwak has endorsed a number of politicians including Ali Bunow Korane who is set to battle Nathif Jama.

The clan commands about 70 percent of the Garissa votes, and it is also the biggest clan in the expansive Garissa county, followed by the Aulian clan.
