Former Labour Cabinet Secretary and Kilifi gubernatorial hopeful Kambi Kazungu has expressed confidence of winning the seat during the forthcoming general elections.

Speaking on Saturday when he officially launched his bid, Kambi took a swipe on Governor Amason Kingi's administration, accusing him of failing to deliver key services to the residents.

“Recurrent expenditure makes 80 per cent of county resources while development takes only 20 per cent. This is not the way it should be,” he noted.

Kambi highlighted a five point agenda that focuses on education, health, food security, infrastructure and employment. The agenda looks to catapult him to Kilifi's top seat

He called on the residents to turn up in their numbers in the forthcoming general elections to back his bid.

"I call on the Kilifi people regardless of who they support for the presidency not to be blinded by the national politics. The leaders clinging on presidential candidates should be rejected," he said.

Kambi is set to vie on Coast-based Kadu-Asili Party ticket.

He will battle it out with the incumbent governor Amason Kingi of ODM and Jubilee Party's Gideon Mungaro.
