Former National Assembly Deputy Speaker Farah Maalim has vowed to unseat National Assembly Majority leader, Aden Duale.
Maalim has said that in the battle for the Garissa Town Constituency, he will emerge victorious.
Speaking on Wednesday, the former Lagdera Constituency legislator insisted that he has all it takes to floor Aden Duale in the race.
“The community wants proper leadership which will spearhead development and I am ready to offer it to them. I have the support of religious leaders, the youth, women and professionals who have faith in me to change the fortunes of the constituency and Garissa as a whole,” he said.
Maalim was the Member of Parliament for Lagdera Constituency in Garissa County from 1993 to 1998 before making a comeback in 2008. He is set to contest under an Orange Democratic Movement party (ODM) ticket.
