In a television interview with Citizen TV on Tuesday, the former legislator accused Mutua of underperformance in the execution of his duties and lack of priorities in initiation of projects.

"When you are elected, you're elected to do what the people want, not what you want. You must be able to implement. You must tailor it according to the people's needs, not your needs. And this is what has happened in Machakos county," she said.

"It is in this regard that I am going to run for the Machakos county governorship position and give the people what they need," she added.
