Speaking at Tabaka town when he launched the ‘Okoa Kenya’ signature collection exercise, Nyamweya said his track record as a member of parliament shows how well he is placed and able to manage county resources.

He also urged Kisii County Governor James Ongwae to utilize the current 15per cent allocated for the counties properly, noting that there is a lot that needs to be done on agriculture and roads.

“Even though the current allocation is minimal, governors should not give any excuses and instead utilize what is available,” said Nyamweya.

He also urged his constituents to hold up the push for more funds to the counties for effective build up at the grassroots.

Elsewhere, Kitutu Masaba MP Timothy Bosire has asked the Constitution Implementation Commission (CIC) chairman Charles Nyachae to stop holding fundraisers (Harambees).

Speaking to this writer, Bosire said the ‘Harambees’ might compromise his work as the CIC chair.

Bosire claimed Nyachae is a public officer and should concentrate on the implementation of the constitution and not infringing its requirements.

He also asked President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto to tell Kenyans where they get the huge amounts of money they contribute in fundraisings.
