The Kamba community has a number of politicians who want to lead Kenya. The veteran Kalonzo Musyoka is having a rough time because of the emerging young tags.
One figure giving Musyoka and Mama Ngilu a headache is the Machakos governor Alfred Mutua. His development-oriented politics has made Machakos residents love him as well as all Kenyans.
The Cord co-principal has more reasons to worry after Mike Sonko said he will vie for presidency in 2032.
Sonko believes that the politics of dynasties should come to an end because he will win despite being born in a poor background.
The Nairobi incumbent has announced his ambitious political plan. This is not good music to Alfred Mutua, Charity Ngilu and Kalonzo Musyoka.
Sonko also condemned Governor Evans Kidero for misappropriating public funds and said that Kidero does not qualify to be president in 2022.
Sonko also warned Jubilee against choosing Wamalwa, Dennis Waweru or Margaret Wanjiru to contest against Kidero. He said he is the best candidate for jubilee and there should be no nominations.
He believes that if they choose his opponents then Kidero will win. Sonko said, “We have a structure in Jubilee. In 2022, I will traverse the country mobilising support for Mr Ruto but in 2032, I will run for President.
Some people think the presidency is for dynasties, I will prove to them that even a Kenyan from a poor background like myself can win the coveted seat.”
