Uasin Gishu Governor Jackson Mandago has hinted at vying for the presidency come 2032.

Mandago said he has what it takes to be the president of Kenya.

“In 2022 we will support Deputy President William Ruto to be the president and after his ten years tenure, I will ask Kenyans to support my presidential bid," he said at the county headquarters, Thursday.

"My development record in Uasin Gishu County speaks for itself. I will, therefore, contest with other candidates come 2032 since I want to replicate what I have done at a national level," he added.

He, however, promised to work to improve the livelihoods of residents in his second term in office.

"I will ensure that every household has access to clean water, improved road network and equip all Early Childhood Development Education (ECDE)," noted Mandago.

He warned corrupt county officials, saying they risk losing their jobs.

"I will not tolerate any corrupt official and anyone who will be found involving in any corrupt act will be shown the door,” he added.
