Kisii county Senator Chris Obure has responded to politicians asking him to retire from active politics and even exuded the confidence of becoming the next Kisii county governor.
He accused a section of leaders who he didn't mention their names for playing immature politics about his age.
"It is me who will be a leader, not my age. I wonder why people are afraid of me contesting for the county top seat. I am ready to serve my people. The current governor has failed and it is my responsibility to tell the people of Kisii county the truth. I am best placed to lead," said Obure.
Obure challenged opponents to give a track development record to the people before they ask for votes.
"Tell people what you have done since they elected you. Kisii county people have not been well represented at the county and national government. Time for change is now," added Obure.
He drummed up support for Jubilee party stating that it is the only way to go in Kisii politics.
"Jubilee party is based on transparency and honesty," he noted.
He was speaking at Tendere Secondary School on Sunday during the Kisii County Jubilee Party youth leaders meeting.
