Kisii Deputy Governor Joash Maangi has said that he is ready to work with President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto.
Mr Maangi said that time of political rhetorics was gone and all people wanted was politics of progress.
"This is time for development matters to take precedent and we wait for five years before we kick off politics," he said.
He also welcomed a late last week move when opposition leader Raila Odinga agreed to work with President Kenyatta.
"Our two top leaders, H.E. Uhuru Kenyatta and Hon Raila Odinga meeting today and agreeing to work together to unite this country is one of the greatest act of statesmanship to be witnessed in this country," he said in his Facebook post.
Ahead of last year's elections, Mr Maangi was fired by the opposition and its supporters for making a similar announcement.
Mr Maangi during his first term in office had announced that he will be working with Jubilee government that did not go well with his boss Governor James Ongwae the ODM point man in the region.
He only parted ways with Jubilee after leaders from the region supporting President Kenyatta's re-election from the region started sidelining him.
Mr Maangi is well known for his connections with Statehouse and being a personal friend to Mr Ruto
