Kimani, who has won Sh5,000 by sharing an interesting Facebook video and hashtagging "#hivisasa", says he sells water to Machakos residents to earn income, since he is the sole breadwinner of his family.

Kimani also sells liquid detergents to residents, and generally engages in 'jua kali' works in order to fend for his young family.

He is married and blessed with one child, who is in Standard One, in a Machakos primary school.

His enthusiasm for social media, he says, made him bump onto Hivisasa.com page on Facebook, and since then he has always participated in online activities by the county news outlet.

The lucky winner of Sh5,000 for the most viewed #Hivisasa video last week on Facebook says he will use part of the money to pay school fees for his Standard One child.

“Hio nitatumia kulipia kijana wangu school fees ya Sh3,500. Ako class one. (I will use the money to pay a school fee of Sh3,500 for my boy in Standard One),” says a delighted Kimani.

The jovial winner says he has shared a lot of videos on Facebook using the hashtag #Hivisasa, and was optimistic of pocketing the cash.

He encourages Kenyans to participate in the competition, adding that #Hivisasa is real and the best local news outlet in the country.

“It doesn't cost much to send an interesting video to Hivisasa or share it on Facebook, you never know, you might pocket the Sh5,000 easily by spending as little as Sh20,” Kimani says.
